Does such a thing exist or is it a custom build?

This one is for the wife!

Do you know anyone bringing a container over from Amsterdam? Many, MANY of them there!

  • I've seen just the thing on there! Thanks!

My landlord lives in Amsterdam so there might be some way of getting something back that way.

    Which one did you like?

There are UK sources for many of these...

There are also others - Google "Dutch Bikes

  • Looked like the Christiania Light Tricycle as on Velorution. Just what I'm after.

It may be worth while asking about a test ride, and discussing options.

I have seen pictures of car baby seats secured to platforms inside the cargo box, and this can be upgraded to a larger seat and to a bench as the child grows.

Additionally as it is basically a wooden box - it is also possible to attach safety belts, and other features fairly easily.

    Best of luck, and enjoy!

  • I'm still working out where to put one as i live in a first floor maisonette (not for long though - buying a house start of next year!).

    That thing looks funky.

  • I filmed the triobike inventor taking two children round the course at cycle 2007. I've finally got round to uploading it to youtube.

One of the big advantages of the Chritsiana is the simplicity and the robustness.

In particular the Plywood box allows the Children to "decorate" their own transport and hence establish "ownership"

  • triobike is a bit special and is quickly becoming the carrier bike of choice for the design concious. It has unique functionality allied with exceptional safety features that were developed in cooperation with the Danish Safety Council.

Customers also design their own colour scheme for the bike, carrier, seats and weather hood making each triobike as individual as the owners. I think it's called "thinking outside of the box". :D

    [cough] Sales pitch [cough, cough]

Having said that, if you want someone to ride one around (every day) and increase your profile in Australia, I'm only a PM away...
