Flippin' rain, riding down a (thankfully empty) road yesterday morning, coming up to corner, brake...and back wheel goes completely, slides sideways, can't catch it and the whole lot goes over, end up facing the way I came
Thankfully no serious damage to self or bike, bumps and bruises plus shaken confidence
Will take it easier in future...am still not used to the Sirrus' brakes, clearly...

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Same thing happened to me a while ago. I was just turning to my house and the front wheel slipped on wet and oily road. Before I knew it, I was skidding sideways. Luckily I was doing only about 15 km/h at that time and there was no traffic. I still did the whole cat-style "you just didn't see me do that" manouvre

The roads are *so* greasy at the moment - almost had an incident myself last night, but was nothing worse than a skid. Developing an almost pathological fear of manhole covers and road markings!
Glad that you didn't damage yourself.0 -
I saw someone go over on the leaves just outside the north side of the greenwich tunnel yesterday... looked like she was going straight next thing I heard was quite an unpleasant thumping noise
I suspect it was the little metal ridge there caught her out
since it's got wet I've generally had the turning circle of an arctic lorryPurveyor of sonic doom
