trek 6500 wsd vs scott contessa 10
So I am looking at these two bikes (2008 versions).... Any comments as to which is better or worse as I am new to cycling and dont know anything about components etc. I mainly do cross country / trial riding, with a short cycle (15mins road but very hilly) to work some days.
Is one frame better than the other? I am hoping that the bike will last a while and that I can upgrade bits in the future rather than buying a whole new bike.....
I will take them both out for a spin before buying but I would like some more info before I try them out.
Any advice would be great....

Spec wise, the Trek shades it, and the air fork loses a lot of weight of the front end. The SLR frame is a peach too.0
