RIDER SPOKE

NEWS
If you would like to take part in Rider Spoke for free, and if you would
like to know more about how your body responds to the stresses of
cycling in London, the Mixed Reality Laboratory has a small number of
places reserved for a unique experiment combining new technologies,
physiology and psychology.
We need participants who are willing to take part in Rider Spoke whilst
fitted with a range of personal monitoring equipment, including a video
camera and a heart-rate monitor. We will be recording data throughout
your experience, which will be used for research and evaluation purposes
at a later date. As an additional incentive, we can offer you a
complimentary copy of any data we record, to act as a souvenir of your
Rider Spoke experience!
For further information, please contact Stefan Rennick Egglestone
(sre@cs.nott.ac.uk) as soon as possible, but please note that places in
this experiement are extremely limited!
Please pass this email on to any others who you think may be interested.
Thanks
Alan

subject to availability
Description
Take a cycle ride in the streets around the Barbican. A games console mounted on your handlebars will guide you as you roll through the City of London. Slip down an alley and find yourself in a quiet corner. Make a recording then move on glimpsing traces of other players, eavesdropping under a bridge or from the top of a multi story car park.
Rider Spoke mixes theatre and location-based games to create an interactive installation on the streets. It continues Blast Theory's groundbreaking sequence of games where none of the usual rules apply.
£10 including bike hire, £5 bring your own bike
Customers are required to leave a credit/debit card number as deposit for the console/bike hire and helmet hire.
Helmets are recommended and will be supplied with bike hire. Customers bringing their own bike are encouraged to bring their own helmet.
For safety reasons, tickets for Rider Spoke are not available to under 18s.
Times: slots available every 15 mins between 17:00 and 20:45
If you have your own bike: Enter through the car park entrance on Silk Street that is signposted Setting Down/Car Parks. Turn right towards car parks 3 and 5. The Rider Spoke team will be on the right hand side at the end of the Barbican Roadway. The team will look after your bike while you collect your ticket.
If you are hiring a bike: Go to the box office on level -1 to collect your ticket where you will be directed to the Rider Spoke team.
Cloakroom facilities are available
