hi guys n girls,

Im currently using a camelbak lobo while out and about, only thing is although the bladder isnt too bad a size, im finding it too small for more than a couple of hours riding in terms of storage sie, what can you reccommend for a good all day trip with room for essentials wallet/map/phone/tubes etc.... and if possible one with helmet carrier space thingy

cheers folks

Camelbak Mule, manage to fit a couple of tubes, lunch, pump, tools, wallet, phone and a waterproof. Also has a 3 litre water bladder, so good for longer rides. As for the helmet storage, you should be wearing it all the time ! You can always clip it to the outside and use the bungee cords to stabilize it.

  • thanks sir!
i will look into that then

altho i may be wearing one lid, i may be carrying the other, sometimes i feel possessed to take my full face and my xc lid if i dont know what to expect, i did it at glentress but thankfully had a very mice friend to carry full face round the xc after we'd hit the freeride park... :D

my choice would be the royal hydropak.. in mbuk this month £40 and looks very nice 8)
  • My vote would be for a Dakine Nomad, i actually sold my '07 camelbak mule to get one as they are so much more comfier than the mule.

    Dakine Nomad 2007

    Features:
    • Full face helmet and armour carry straps
    • Quick disconnect hose
    • XC helmet carry
    • Internal organization pockets
    • Breathable Dri-mesh back panel and shoulder straps
    • Fleece sunglasses pocket
    • Tube/Pump sleeves

Bit pricey tho, got mine from CRC for £59

Yep I got a mayhem here too, 3L bladder and 11L storage, it all seems to disappear when the bladder is full. Mind you I haven't tried others to compare too. I was impressed when on the kona darkside at mabie (northshore) I ended up spreadeagle chest first onto a rock and pretty much landed on the clip and there's no damage. well made for sure.
  • cheers for the help guys, i think the dakine one looks like it'd be more suitable for me altho i'll probably still have a look round for the camelback n see how it looks in the flesh first.

i got the hydrapak roost from crc for £36 and is brilliant

    - 3lt bladder
    - helmet carry thing
    - fits multi tool , puncture repair kit, spare inner tube, pump, waterproof jaket, food, phone, keys (i think you get the picture there is plenty of room)
    - Also has waist stap and chest strap to hold in place.

very happy with mine great bag without the heftyk price

    - Cool uban camo design too!!!!!
