Have a look on the various guides on how to install the things. I've never heard of anyone not being able to fit the things. £50 isn't a lot really, same price as a decent set of new tyres/

I'll see you at the end.

You'll see me on the floor.
  • Recently bought a standard rim kit myself, tried in vain to fit it to a pair of panaracer rampage 2.3 tyres and DT swiss 455 rims to no avail, could not get them to hold air at all despite loads of soap etc, the videos on the stans site make it look very straight forward, not in my experience though. have heard of some people who trim the bit of the rim strip around the valve to get it to work have not tried this as i may get rid of them on e-bay! did end up using the sealant in a normal tube with a two part valve to see if this works.

Got mine working on Alex rims + Spesh Revolution Sport tyres, took a few goes, I was pretty much to the giving up point, then went and watched the video on Stans. Used TONS more soap and really hammered the track pump (£9.99 from Argos!) much more agressively while applying pressure near the valve part of the tyre. The second one was easier once I'd got the technique figured out.

Both have held really well, definitely worth it in a fast rolling, crazy grippy, vaguely flat tyre feeling way. I used a Joes kit free with an MBUK subscription.

I'd definitely ebay the strips if you've given up 100%, they sell for £14 a pop new.

I had stans on my old bike and am now changing over my new one as well. Its a good solution the only faff I found was having to renew the sealant in the tyres. It dry s out over time and needs topping up and eventually cleaning out from the tyre. I swapped to bontranger super juice which lasts a lot longer.

Bottom line is, easy with ust tyres.

More involved with normal tyres but do able. Have a look on the forum on no-tubes website as there is a lot of advice on there.

However you can be unlucky like i was first time and get a tyre that refuses to seal. I had a set of bontranger tubeless ready tyres and one sealed and the other after a lot of effort refused to and ended up on some one else's bike

I've got Eclispse kits (very similar to Stans) and I echo Schellpel - gave up on standard tyres and fitted Maxxis USTs - piece of piss.
