Spacing Brake Pads

Hi guys and girls,
relatively new to this mtb, disc brake lark, having been a roadie for far too long. however, my brakes are driving me a little insane so thought i'd ask the collective for some advice.
i have xtr brakes and now it seems that i just cant centre the disc into the brake pads. my fornt disc now actually rubs a little which is annoying to say the least. i have cheked online to see how i can adjust this but to no clear avail. can anyone just tell me what i need to do?
many thanks.

what is the fitting of the brakes?
there are some tech drawings in the disc brake sticky."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

If the brakes are post mounts its relativly easy to adjust the whole caliper assembly, (my xtr fronts are post mounts but have not had this issue)

i have no idea what they are. my forks are fox f80's. i can space the whole brake unit to centre the disc but this doesn;t seem to cut it now. it weems that i need to soemwho centre the pads themselves. are there no fine tuning bits on xtr brakes?Only the meek get pinched. The bold survive.0
