Why is there such a limited choice of water bottles on the market. All i want is a plain matt black with GT all over it. Any ideas, plain black with mud cover would be great, better than nothing. i currently have a Zefal which is good but would be better plain. it also has a hole due to a high speed stone of my mates bike. so it's time to get a new one, i've looked in usual places any ideas?

Get the chris boarman one from halfords, it's all black, if you use a sponge with scotch bright on the back (the type you do the dishes with) the cboardman logo comes wright off.

why dont u just stick a GT sticker on it, there is usually a few on ebay which are for frames which you could wrap around the botle and there is a few little ones in the set..
    could try ebay.com

Surely you don't know it's black and won't see the GT logo when your water bottle is filled and resting under your feet at the bottom of the bed?

Just a thought but black absorbs heat much faster than a white or clear one so in summer you end up drinking warm water after a shorter time in the sun!!

well my bike is worth £1800+ and ive got a £1 bottle from wilkinson and the nike one from ebay.. why would you be so bothered about a bottle what you fill with water..
no one in the world is going to care in the least if its £3 or £15, if i seen that bottle for £15 on a bike i would just think it was £5 looks the same to me.. its just a bottle

So even if the 3 quid bottle was the best bottle you still wouldn't buy it? I guess you must leave the price tags on everything so people can see how much you paid.

I use a Zefal, similar to the Sigg above that also has a cover over the mouth piece so you don't get a mouthful of crud from drinking out of it after muddy rides. No idea where it came from, it's donkeys years old. I also have a load of cheap bottles which work exactly as well, and you could buy 6 for the price of 1 Sigg bottle. Save your cash and put it towards something towards making the bike ride better. It's a only a cheap bike you've got at £1500?

    edit,

The aluminium ones are crap for drinking as you ride as you can't squeeze them.

because if i buy a bike for £60 and throw it off a 10foot drop, what do you think would happen... still makes it a bike though

yes i think you've got it. I too have had many cheap bottles even cheap 3pound jobs but they don't last they go brittle in the sun or they melt in the dishwasher. I hate to say it but more often than not the more you pay the better the product. obveiously there are exceptions but after going through several water bottles the zefal being one of the best of them i thought it was about time to get one that would last and not break yet also look good.
p.s i could not get a black zefal they seem hard to get hold of.

Or just get a Camelbak so you don't have to drink out of a muddy bottle

Or get one of these and whack a GT sticker on it

I'm sure you'd find a cheap plain black water bottle at Halfords if and GT stickers are easy enough to get hold of
