How hard is it to fit a new rear mech only? What is involved in doing it?
Can i just use my existing gear cable or not?
Thanks in advance.

maybe. depends on the condition of the cable.
for how read the info on parktools. linky below."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Which one of the links is relivant to my situation?0

Just click on the bike map on the rear mech, and choose the guide.0

Could i just mark on the cable where it meets the screws on my current derailer and then jus have the cable in the same place on the new derailer or is it just not that easy?0

It must be set up from scratch.0

I shoudnt have to play with the limit screws if it ahs come off another bike would i?0

Yes. Your bike is unique, with small differences making huge changes to function. The adjusters are there to tailor it to your bike.

oh so it isnt going to be as plain sailing as i thought it would be.
Do you think theres any chance of you giving me a 'basic' or as un complicated as you can make low-down on what i need to do?0 -
The most basic guide you'll want is the Park Tools one, which you've already been linked to.0

Oh alright then.
Thanx for the help. If i run into any problems when i get round to doing it ill ask again.0
