Celsius V's Defroster

I need winter boots. I normallly wear Specialized BG shoes and have found them to be great and well suited to my feet. Has anyone ever tried the Northwave Celsius J GTX as I am considering these over the Defrosters because they have Gore-Tex lining I would like to know if anyone has any opinion of either boot?

Cheers,

I use the same shoes all year round, Seal Skinz socks and overshoes if its really cold and muddy.

  • Eh, :?

I have seal skins socks but that does not stop the shoe itself from getting soaking wet.

Overshoes are fine for on the road but useless offroad if you need to get off, plus they are another added thing that you have to put on.

I have no problem with getting a pair of winterproof cycling shoes I just cant decide which ones to go for.

I have ridden Spesh shoes for years but decided to try the northwaves last winter for the same reasons as you state, Best winter clothing purchase ever. I have crap circulation and my feet get cold even in the summer but not with these beasties on.

Liner socks, seal skins, Northwave celsius. End of.

Also shopping for winter shoes, so far have only tried the defroster on in size 45 (same aize as my Spesh summer shoes) but the feel much tighter across the foot. WIll be trying the 46 later this week.

I've had Northwave Snowboarding boots for the last 10 years... don't know if that helps with reference to any quality queries....

Saracen Mantra with Marzocchi MX Pro ETA\'s, 24-7 Silverstar pedals... and a map holder.
  • Also take a look at Diadora. Got some half price at around £50 last year
