Crank Arm Length?

What is the norm? 170mm or 175mm

And do they really make a difference?

    what ever i use 165 and 170 and 175.

    I am 5'8" and want to fit new cranks to a 17" Merlin Malt4 I have an inside leg of around 30" but a long back.

    Any ideas?

    i would go 175. what was on before and did you have any probs.

    i am about the same and run 175 on my XC bike.

    I guess that will do then...off to wiggle now!
