Are there any retailers in the UK, or would I have to buy from the US? I fancy building me a set of light wheels over the winter.

Try Super Cycles in Notts. Planet-X also use them on their carbon wheels - but I haven't seen them list them on their website.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Thanks Monty Dog. (Thinking that I might play safe with Record now... Slightly heavier at the front, but easily serviceable and probably more reliable for the same price..)0

Not UK, but not US either, so should be less hassle - I'm thinking of ordering a front from them, but have a Record rear as it's cheaper, not much heavier, and should be a lot more reliable.

They're not trying very hard to sell these in the UK, I've scribbled to them in the US TWICE to ask who their distributor is here in the UK and they've not bothered to answer, and we are in the trade!!!!
Technically, the tiny bearings in their (admittedly light) front hub have given riders problems that I've heard/read about.
Nelson, have you seen their magnesium rims? We think we could flog a few of those!!!! Great wheel for a lighter rider!
Cheers,

I've also seen enough reports from people who don't have trouble to suggest they're probably OK - at worst you might have to change the bearings regularly, but with a front hub that's a quick and easy job. Not so sure about the rear, as I've heard more reports of problems, and it's not so easy to fix - meanwhile as I already mentioned, a Record is little heavier, cheaper and pretty bombproof.0 -
The newer models of rear hub use a bigger bearing - the older one was pretty weenie - but at £2 each it wasn't too much hassle to swap the four of them out - adjusting bearing end load was a bit of a fiddle though due to the coarse thread.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

It's taken me long enough to decide on hubs (and even now I'm not entirely sure). Don't go getting me all indecisive over rims too! It's just a pair of humble 4th cat crit/rr wheels that I'm after - light, aero-ish and good vfm. I aready have Open Pro's on Record, but am tired of having to change over tyres from training to 'events'. Note to self - should probably speak to Harry R or Paul Hewitt.0
