Hi, i'm looking for a cheap wireless cycle computer. I just want the basic functions really, speed, distance etc, nothing fancy

I've seen the Cateye Micro for £30, is this any good or are there better ones out there for the money?

thanks in advance :-)

Any of the Cateyes are good.
  • ahh good, that's confirmed what i hoped anyway :)

I had a cateye Mity8 a couple of years ago and a load of the segments on the LCD screen disappeared never to be seen again, hopefully this won't happen with a new one tho.

i have a cateye micro now and its excellent, definetely recommend them to anyone
  • I got one out of ALDI last week - £12.99 for a wireless computer WITH pulse measurement as well, even measures temperature - along with all the normal trip functions. Easy enough to setup and get working, and works fine.. .. ..

.. .. .. display could be bigger, but I can still read it fine.

  • thanks for the info so far, i'm still tempted with the cateye though

does anyone know if this Specialized Turbo 2 Elite is worth a look?

    probably much a like
  • Any particular reason for wireless? Wired are more reliable / better battery life, though it's not easy to get the cable looking neat.

    Just my 2p's worth. :)

I had a boardman wireless got it free with the bike and what a complete and utter disaster, i had it changed 4 times then i gave up, they sell them for £40.00 and i'm just glad i didn't pay for it.

I have since bought a wired one from of all places, Tesco, for a mere £6.50 and it works perfectly, i've since been on their website and they are now £3.50ish an absolute bargain.

Whoops, just noticed it's out of stock, still worth the £6.50 shop price though.
  • Another vote for the Catyeye Micro.I bought mine online for £25.
