Anyone got any suggestions on the best place to insure bikes

    Got house insurance?

    Mine is on the contents insurance.

    If not, Google will throw up many companies, have a trawl through and see which one fits you best.

    All will come with recommended security levels and exemptions though.

    Always something to keep in mind, not just the price of the policy but also the price to comply with it, because if you don't and the insurer can prove it, they won't pay out.

    I use Cycleguard - Pavillion Insurance (specialist bike insurers) Cost me £24 per year, and after my accident earlier in year :oops: they paid out £180 for new parts without any problems :lol: , Shall renew with them again

    I also use Cycleguard ( and Photoguard for my camera equipment ) never had to make a claim so can't comment on that aspect.....

    M&S always gets reccomended for their House insurance policys good £4k limit for unspecified items. I'm going to give them a try when my policy is up for renewal

    i have nationwide house insurance and managed to get top of the range bike insurance which covers me up to £2000 if its stole from shed,garage etc or out on the streets/trails.
    got all that for no extra cost 8)

    yEH ME AS WELL

    I gots house insurance and they will even cover me for Accidental damage, theft blaa blaa blaa

    adds and extra 30.00 a month but i know i can trust the company as i used to work for them, and the do pay out no questions asked.

    They will cover 3,500 for in and outside the home THE AA

    I'm with cycleguard as well house insurance wouldn't cover above £1000, plus cycleguard comes with accidental damage, useful when your bike is carbonfibre :roll:

    Well I thought it was worth the £100 considering the amount of times I fall off :wink:

    Cycleguard to, £175 a year for me inc. roadside rescue and race cover. If you do use a specialist insurer just be sure you read the security requirements closely, they're very strict on approved locks etc.
