A freind of mine has recently purchased a 2nd hand Specialized carbon Roubaix Pro road bike with Amercian Classic CR - 350 wheels - he was told the bike was a 2005 model.

He has broken a spoke and is having great difficulty in finding someone (preferably reasonably locally to Welwyn Garden City where he works, or Bishops Stortford where he lives although not critical) who could repair it to the original spec.

It is currently in a bike shop in WGC having a regular stainless steel double butted spoke fitted however he would have preferred to have found someone who had heard of Amercan Classic and could supply the correct spoke complete with a new rplacement custom designed black nipple made by Bill Shook, (the man behind American Classic according to their website) to match the rest of the wheel.

He has been told there is an AC UK importer but he can't locate them.

Can anyone help?

Supercycles in Nottingham are American Classics dealers. Alternatively, try and buy direct from the US. Whilst AM classic products are light, they have never been the strongest - undersize bearings and 'too-light' build have been a criticism. I built some wheels using their hubs - nice and light, but weenie bearings meant they weren't going to last forever.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
