anyone spotted some good deals on 07 bikes?

Hi maddog,
I recently bought a Scott CR1 Pro for £1550; list price is £1899 but there's loads of places that are doing them for around £1400. I haven't actually ridden any other road bike, and I've heard that it's meant to have a 'harsh' ride, but I've done over 1000 miles on including quite a few 80+ mile rides, and I think it's fantastic!
Looks good too, IMHO (this shouldn't matter, of course...)0 -
There's quite a big range of focus's (focii?) in wiggle for 2008 which look technically if not aesthetically interesting.0

that Scott looks very possible. 8)
Full Ultegra, whereas the Trek/Spesh etc. are 105.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
Wilier Mortirolo Veloce at CycleSurgery for £1,299

I'd second the Scott. I've had my CR1 pro for just over a year now. Brilliant value for money for £1,600 with full ultegra annd Ksyriums0

2nd the advice about an Orbea bike. I bought a Vitesse about 3 years ago and only had to upgrade wheels after a year. I have a new 'good' bike now but I dont think you can get a better mid price bike(frame) for the £1500 range of bikes.
Saying that it is now the silly season for slashing bike prices as the 2008 models are now coming out. I would try to go for a reduced 2007 model and would spend a bit of time googling bike shops and checking out some magazines.Brian B.0 -

Try the Lemond range for size/comfort. I had two in mind, the Bianchi and Lemond and just found the Lemond fitted better. There is a lot of talk about "the Lemond ride" and "Lemond geometry" which may just be marketing fluff & nonsense, but I certainly found the general feel to be better. The Buenos Aires is in your price range and Zurich may be also if on Sale.0
