New Crankset?

Hey every1,
I stupidly bought a GT Chucker 1 from halford about a month ago, i had nothing but problems with it so they eventually swapped it for a new one. However, this one had the same sort of problems. Basicly, crap gears, it just clicks on nearly every gear. I'm now deliberating whether to get a new crankset. I'm thinking Truvativ Holzfeller.
I would be thankfull for any advice,
Ben

Its not the cranks that are the problem. It will be the adjustment of the gears that you need to work on.0

Indeed it will be the gears by the sound of it. I'm suprised nick louse hasn't been here with "check park tools website".
read their section on rear mechs, get out your allen keys and have a fondle. with the mech that is.0 -
It's probably just cable stretch from when it was brand new, no great issue, take it back in, they should be able to sort it in 10 mins.0

Wel, i've taken it back so many times its unbelievable, they are sick of the sight of me now because i keep on demanding them to fix it.
I apologise now because im not sure on the name of the parts, but, the 'bit' that chages the gear from chain ring 1 into 2 is rubbing against the chain in most gears, and halfords can't fix it and im not sure either. I've been told that a crankset would get rid of the problem because i would only have 1 chain ring.

it is not the crankset. it is the mechanic.
have a read of parktools indexing gears and then go back and make sure they fix it. if they dont demanp to see tha manager and get your money back and go else where to but a bike.
have a chat with the CAB as well."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
