I am a 1.72m heavy man that love riding hard.
Likes to jump and be rough, hence not getnle with my bikes.
I like going up but not as much as coming down hard and fast and taking big drps.

Someone pls recomend some bikes for me thank you

do you usually do D/H, have a look at the norco team dh..
if it was me i would custom build for that money you would be able to make one nice bike 8) , and have it exactly how you want it

I would not say that i normally just do D/H. I go up as much as I do XC and maybe as much as I do D/H.
My concern is that some bikes are light and maybe fragile and spending that money to find that you have a to class XC bike, that the day you take it down the Alps, or the Stain or Ben Nevis I cracks on a hard Jump or over Some aggressive D/H ride, it would kill me.
A custom built bike is great, but if I knew what I was doing or trusted someone do do something specific for me and my stile, problem I do not know who to turn to or where to start.
I like Specilized bike, I must say but are they the best for me? and which? Or is Orange or Norco or Marin etc better and why?

    Santa Cruz Nomad/Intense 6.6/Orange Patriot/Giant Reign

Just a few ideas. All sound like what you're after. 6 or so inches of travel, not too heavy, certainly not too light. Capable of taking down the propper mountains and riding back up them (especially if you have near £4k to spend).

    Here is an build idea:

    Intense 6.6 - £1600
    Fox Float 36RC2 - £600
Hope Pro II hubs on DT 5.1 rims - £230
    Shimano XTR groupset - £800
    Thomson post, stem - £120
Add an extra few hundred on for bars, headset, pedals, tyres etc.
    S-works Stumpjumper FSR

I'll see you at the end.

You'll see me on the floor.

well specialized is pretty much the same as norco, marin, rocky mountain etc just a little more tough..
have a look at the build idea ddoogie said as that would be one very nice bike.
take it to a local performance bike shop and im sure they will build it up for you..
also have a look at the giant reign's i have one and its absolutely amazing.

Nice bike and good price... and take all the space you want you are doind me a favour.

I just spoke to a frind that does D/H races, and he seems to think that Specialized is the way forward, and he put it down to 3 models for me either the SX, or the S-Works Enduro FSR Carbon or the Enduro FSR Pro Carbon.
He said the SX is the Heaviest and will be much harder work going up but in all more robust if the jumps get high and landings flat.
Not that it makes a lot of sense, but I seem to understand tha the other 2 (carbons) are weak and on jumps may break ?

it is up to you but the giant is top of the range and a very very nice bike also you will have lots of money left to upgrade :D

If you want to be a bit different you could try one of these:

Supposed to be somewhere between a full D/H bike and the Meta 5 All Mountain Bike with 6 inches of travel. The Meta 5 of course got excellent reviews and is pretty tough.
    Commencal Meta 5.5.1
    Scott CR1
  • For some reason things seem to be poitning me toward the Specialized SX-Trail FSR II 2008 Mountain Bike....
I am trying an SX 2007, and an enduro next week !!!!!
    Hmm!!!
Lets see, if anything better comes up.
