Saw this rather horrible story on the BBC website and it got me thinking about the "Surveillance Society" thread, and to wondering just how crap airport "anti terror etc etc" security must be - if they can't even spot an auction in progress???

    As in you can't take more than 100ml of fluid (and what you do take has to be in a see through container) aboard an aircraft maybe?

    Serious reply...
    The coffe shops in question are landside (outside the security zone), and well away from the security channels. They are not watched by airport security, it's a police job.
