Fitting 8 speed wheels to a 7 speed bike/casette

Hi i have a Carrera road bike and thinking of upgrading to a shimano r500 or r550 wheelset

The spaing of the rear axel is 130mm and i currently run a 7 speed shimano set up

I want to keep my gears but will i have to add a spacer infront of the casette and re true the wheel

Im not sure i can fit a 8 speed wheel any advice wud be apprecaited

    just fit a spacer behind the 7spd cassette, on the 8/9spd wheel. The wheel alignemnt will be fine.

    LBS will have the spacer. Or wiggle/crc etc.

    An old bottom bracket lock ring is the same width as the spacer needed
    Just file off the threads..
    Not a lot of people know that. :(
    And probably don't need to. :)
