Can anyone help.
My GT i-drive 1 has disc brakes which sqeek like mad at slow speed. I've looked at the pads which have loads of meat on them still and the discs show very little ware. Is there anything I can do?
The brakes work really well and are the standard fittment on the bike but make that most horrible noise which scares pedestrians, cats, dogs cows sheep and my daughter every time I use them
Any ideas would be most welcome.

Many thanks for the lead.
It seems that like most things there are tricks of the trade that solve the problem. Not sure about baking the pads though, when i did the same to degrease my bike engine the smell went through the house and I was not very popular for several weeks. Will try the advice given and see how we go.
Thanks again.0 -
Had to let you know the advice on squeeky breakes was fanastic. I was a little cautious about putting them in the oven but on removing the pads there was clearly a shiny almost glass like build up on parts of the surface. I actually heated it up using a hot air gun and found that when warmed was easy to remove. I also as advised shaved the edge of the pad, cleaned the rotors up, coppa greesed the pistons and put the lot back together, the difference is amazing. I think because the peformance of the brakes had gone down hill over a period of time I had not actually realised how bad they were.
Thanks for the advice.0
