Now I am back I have noticed that some of the old vanguard seem to be missing. Ravenbait, Evilchuffy, Keith Oats. Do these posters no longer frequent this place?

Ah yes, I remember Keith Oats and all his exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No sign of P (the Knowledge) Biggs either?
And JDFyfe seems to have become Noodley, I think.0 -
I think most of them have moved over to Cycle Chat during the big migration of 2007...
*Other cycling forums are available...0 -
Yep, the herd has moved onto other plains.
Shame, Pete Biggs was a damn good chap to have frequenting the Know-How forum.
What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!0 -
Pete Biggs was a genius on C+ forum. There wasn't much in the world of Campagnolo that he didn't know about.0

Quite a few migrated to Cyclechat, but there are still many missing in action. P.Biggs, ClaireV, EddyS, RB sticks her head in from time to time, a few have decamped to ACF on a permanent basis.
Shame really.
Some of us still flit restlessly hither and thither, rootless... :roll:0 -
Having only joined up in Feb. this year I 've only just flitted back in and it took me a while to notice that quite a few familiar posters had dissapeared. Now I know where they've gone.
Has Cyclechat been around long? Who put it up?
pssst I signed up too. It would be rude to read and not to join_________________________

...I am still about, if anyone remembers me...been working like a whipped dog all summer and haven't had much time to get on here so... hello all, old and new...looking forward to the Cycle Show next week...who's going?...all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...0
-
Aww...course we remember you Chris!0
-
...Heavy... all those musical interludes...and that time you kept Kaa in your cupboard...oh, the memories...all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...0

Hello ChrisLS from a bit of a newbie, good to have you back Sir! Hope your bank account is braced for the bike show!
Crackle - I think CycleChat was around from mid - late 2006 but was very quiet. During the ever controversial 'BikeRadar-gate incident' a few of the old C+ moved over there and began a bit of an exodus.0 -
As long as the moany beggars dont come back.0

yeh, you don't want your nice clean forum cluttered by people posting now do you :roll:riding on my bicycle, i saw a motorcrash…0 -
No I dont want it cluttered with people who's sole purpose in life seems to be to hark on about the old days on C+ and moan. Other forums got merged into here too you know.
Oh and post "I am leaving, make me centre of attention" type posts.
Oh and mention Cyclecak in every post.0 -

Kaa reporting for duty, lads. And feeling all choked up at being remembered.... or maybe just at the thought of being held captive in Heavymental's cupboard!!
Like Chris, I have had a very busy summer and autumn, that is now just settling down a little. I have lurked a little in that time, but rarely logged in or posted.
Speaking of MIAs - as I put on my POLITE hi-viz vest for the first time in months yesterday, I realised that Padbeat seems to have disappeared.
Anyway, it'snice to see some familiar names still about.***********************

Aww welcome back Kaa!
Maybe everyone's had a busy summer and people will start flocking back now. It is better here now though. The old forum is a distant memory for me now. I've got no problems with this one now except for it being a little quiet sometimes.0 -
I must'a missed all the fun over summer. So lots of spat dummies then? I had a read of cyclechat, it's quite funny, good banter but a bit cliquey maybe, hard to join in until you've tuned into the wavelength. I have noticed BR road seems a bit quieter than when it was C+. Seems to be lots of new members though. I think the training section is a bit more intimidating than it was, lots of qualified people to shoot down the myths you really want to believe in, that' no fun. Ah well! Nothing stays the same eh!_________________________

I'd like to think 'inspired' by Vince Noir... And his musical namesake Jim Noir. 'Noir' seems to be a popular name at the moment - unfortunately you're stuck with me...
Good to see a few people returning!0 -

Haven't visited the uk.rec.cycling newsgroup for a good while, but Pete certainly used to be a regular on there, and may well still be.

I don't think there's any need for bitterness. I am sure this forum will improve soon.0 -

You mean Ric "powermeter" Stern?? I like training better as its got a real edge to it for racers. I would take the advice though for what it mostly is: opinion.0 -
Pete B gave notice a while ago to stay off the bulletin boards - i don't think it was just to do with C+ / CycleChat etc.
I'm still here because I can't access CC at work and got bored by all the double postings on both forums - so decided to stick with the one I can get to all the time.
I do find the quality of many discussions has diminished slightly due to the lack of a few folks and the size of the board means that often the same questions get posted repeatedly week-after-week in things like beginners.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0 -

how do you see the road section should be "condensed" what should be merged what should be deleted!
post it here or up in the BR office and lets see what happens."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

yes, it's definetly not a cuddly place to be anymore, perhaps good for racers but tread warily if you're way down the intensity ladder, otherwise you get killed in the competing coaching advice crossfire :shock:_________________________
