having recently had both my bikes nicked from my garage along with most of my best kit (nothing else was taken except bike stuff) , i have upgraded security on my garage door with a garalockhttp://www.pjbsecurity.co.uk/viewproduct.asp?ProductCode=pjb307.
i am also planning on putting an anchor with a 1.8m motorcycle lock through it to go around both wheels and the frame.
hopefully this will deter/stop my new bike getting nicked.
how does this compare with other peoples security?
am i going over the top?
:?
i hate hills (cos i'm fat)

  • No, i don't think that's over the top especially as you've had your stuff nicked previously.

I've got a kryptonite anchor fitted to the garage wall which i D-lock my pride and joy to and i think it's money well spent

Mines IN my bed, I sleep with one eye open, on the floor, by the door, with a shovel in my hands

When I'm at my parent's house I just lean the bike up against the wall at the back of the garage and drive the car up until it nearly touches the pedals. The main reason for this is that the car won't fit in otherwise, but there's no way of getting the bike out without moving the car. When I'm in my flat I keep my bike in the hallway, no lock needed.

My bike at the moment though is not currently worth stealing, but next summer when I get a more expensive bike, I'm sure that I'll find a more secure way of storing the bike - I'd be buggered if the car got stolen.
    I like bikes...
