can anybody recommend some full-finger gloves of the protection rather than the warmth variety which have really good wrist protection?
All the ones I've seen only come to the base of the hand or just about half an inch past.
ever since I once crashed and grazed my wrist i've always thought i'd like some gloves with good protection in this area.
I know you can get specific wrist armour but would rather the simplicity of just gloves.

LOL
that's exactly what I thought
I ordered some of those, and they came today...
and while they're not bad, they're not as good as I'd hoped they'd be.
i'm not sure you can actually get what I think i want, which is ones that have a wrist closure which extends about 2 inches below the bottom of where the thumb is stitched on. Those spesh ones are about 1 inch, and the actual wrist closure bit is part of the glove rather than separate(-ish), hence at the bit where they end it's a bit loose.

Summer motorbike gloves might be your best bet then.....
There mesh but they are longer in the wrist.
Knuckle protectors and usually some armour around the wrist.
How these look?
