Sorry - Sizing Query again, Trance 2

Sorry to keep on about sizing issues, I think I have asked sizing advice on 2 or 3 different bikes recently. I know I should be trying different bikes, but the best deals are on last years bikes from online retailers, and as I am very much on a budget I have to go this way.
My final ask is about a Giant Trance 2 (07 version) It has great reviews and I really fancy this bike.
So for me 16” (small) or 18” (medium) ? I am 169cms (which is somewhere between 5’6” and 5’7”) of relatively normal proportions. My riding is general North Wales trail riding.

I think the general advice with Giants is to err on the small side if you're in between sizes as they generally have long top tubes. I'm 6ft and my 18" Anthem 1 '07 fits me fine.0

I'm 5'9" and ride the Trance in 16". I like my frames on the slightly small side so I reckon it would be perfect for you.0
