Rear drop out spacing
Hi
I recently broke a Thorn club Tour frame and have taken off all the components ready to switch onto a new frame. A friend has said that they have an old Dawes galaxy frame but I am not sure if my rear wheel (with a 135mm hub) will fit in the frame as the drop out spacing is 130mm. Can I just pull the frame apart slightly when putting in the rear wheel or will I have to try and spread the rear drop outs slightly as on Sheldon Brown's website here: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html
Thanks in advance
Phil

Just pull the chain stays apart whilst inserting the axle into the dropouts.
You're only talking 2.5 mm per side.
The worst scenario is that your smallest cog/sprocket may be too big and cause chain rub on the seat stays .
Not a big problem ,just change the smallest sprocket, depending on cassette, or fit a new cassette with a higher top gear ,i.e smaller sprocket. .0
