Crank removal...problem

Hi fellas,
Forgive my ignorance, but how can I remove a truvativ firex crankset from my 07 marin?
It's one of these hollow axle new (ish) types with a bolt in the non driveside crank which screws into the axle, and another outer which simply screws into the crank itself (it seems pointless, like a cap or simply there for aesthetic value).
I've removed both bolts but the crank will not come off the axle, and there's no pinch bolts on the arm like shimano systems.
I thought that with the bolts removed the crank arm should simply slide off the axle, allowing me to remove the drive side, but it won't budge and there's nothing else to undo or remove.
In my efforts the axle seems to have moved a few millimetres as the chain now rubs the front mech making the bike unrideable without adjusting the mech.
Any help much appreciated chaps

undo the bolt."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I think you have dismantled a self extracting crank bolt. The bit that screws into the arm pulls the crank off when you you undo the main bolt. Put the crank bolt back in, then the other bit, then just remove the main bolt. Should pull the crank off.0
