Yesterday a chap on a 40 mile run (in his sixties I would guess) offered me a ride on his back wheel as I was gasping (on my 26 mile run) - what a difference it makes!

Thanks!

  • Gotta love drafting, makes a hell of a difference. I found myself at the head of the pack and couldn't hack the pacemaking for more than 10 minutes, so I just skived off to the back...
  • Ignomony?, call that ignomony?, try being out on the Sunday clubrun, you're going up a hill, off the back, as usual, you come up behind a couple of runners, the top's nearly in sight, so you put a spurt on to pass them in style, it's a false crest, up the road goes more, you're stuffed, you slow down, you hear behind, the steady patter of feet, just as you round the last bend to see the rest of the lads waiting at the top for you,the runner passes you
Queue massed cheers from your "Mates"
