Which would I be best going for?
This RaceFace Diabolus Chain Guide,

Or an e13 bashguard and a Black Spire Stinger Chain Device, it works out the same price...
Also, how would I know what to get for my Kona Blast 2006? (ISCG, ISCG 05, or Non ISCG)
Thanks!

well first look at your frame. does it have ISCG mounts.
there are links it the tech links sticky that will give you the info to work out what you need."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Ok, I'll take a look at that now, so it's either the Race Face one that I linked to, or the Black Spire Stinger and this basguard, what do you think?

I'd need the 4 bolt one, right?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -
No ISCG mounts on the Blast IIRC, and I'd go for the RF BB mount version.
The stinger adjusts the inner plate with bars held by grub screws, and tends to slip in use, allowing the chain to get caught up occasionally. And it's noisy.
The supercharger is a better bash guard though. But you could fit one later if you want to.It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.0 -
So the blast doesn't have any ISCG mounts? I'd get the Non-ISCG fitting?
IIRC, what's that?
The advantage to the stinger is that I get to keep my granny ring and middle one thouhg, if I used the RF one, I couldn't...
If I got the RF, would I get 36 or 40 t one?
Thanks a lot for your help Skyliner!Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -
Anybody, please?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060

Ah, Ok, thanks for that dude!
So, you know about the other question?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -
Only you can decide what is the best chainring size for your riding. Larger = hiarder gearing. Then chose the right basguard to fit it.0
-
There's the thing, I already have the chainrings, they're 42/32/22.
The outter (42t) one I am obviously going to take off, to replace with the Bashguard.
Do I need 4 bolt one, thats the only thing? I think I do, don't I...
I couldn't get this one as it only comes in the 4bolt with 46teeth...
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=3952
So I'd get this one:

In black with the 32t 4 bolt one...
So, The Blackspire set, or the blackspire stinger and e13?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -
What do YOU want?!0

Ok, Ok, I'd rather go for the e13 and the Blackspire stinger, but I need to know if I get the 32t 4 bolt e13, is that the right one for my bike? Just a little help....Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060

Don't know the answer to the question?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060

Not read it yet. You are firing 100s of different combos: read the specs, if it fits, buy it! I am not looking up the parts for you. Match the bash guard bolt pattern to your crank and chainring (plus its size). if you want to fit a chain device, it has to be a none ISCG one and your frame doesnt have it.0
-
All I want to know is if I get the 32t 4 bolt e13?
I know now that I don't have an ISCG fitting, so I get the BB one...Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -
If you want to run 2 rings, save a little longer, and get the E13 DRS it's worth the extra cash. I've never had any trouble with mine. plus you get the correct bash with it.
If you decide to go for the stinger, you'll need to get the 4 bolt 32t bash to match your current setup. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.0 -
Thanks for the advice skyliner, I'll look into the e13 one, I'll let you know what I end up getting.
Thanks for that!Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060
