Will be using it mostly on the road but i have got a tendency to chuck bikes of kerbs and such like.

what mountain bike this month has a test on hybrids, the revolution courier race came top but dunno if you'd want something tougher.

Might be better of with a regular mtb,with slicks.How about a rigid forked,Hardrock XC?

Have a look at a Carrera Subway.
Hybrid, 26" wheels, street tyres and looks pretty burly imho.
In fact, a lot of people say there bombproof.
