Bit of a strange one this..when I am sat down and pedalling the chain & gears are working nice and smoothly, when I stnad up & start putting pressure on the pedals and chucking the bike left & right the chain starts rubbing on the front changer.
Is soemthing moving due to the presure?...it has only just started doing it following a service I had on the bike

  • By standing up out of the seat, you are putting more pressure on the crankset, causing it to flex slightly.

Chances are, the bike shop adjusted the front mech as part of the service, and didn't take into account the extra flex experienced when cycling out of the saddle (something that I have also failed to do in the past).

A 1/4 turn to adjust the mech should see it sorted.
  • cheers Welsh Pirate, will give that a go
