Hi,
I have the Kona Blast 2006, and I was wondering what the maximum travek forks I could have on the fram are, is it only 100mm, or could I go higher?
Also, I'm going to be getting a Blackspire Stinger Chain device, would I need to get the non-ISCG fitting?
One last thing, I'm going to get some Maxxis Minions for it, what compound would I need, for mostly gravel and rooted section, would it be the hardest one, I want them to last a good while...
Thanks!

how much travel have you got on now, if its 80mm i wouldnt go any higher than 110mm, 100mm is probably your best bet tho.0

they're 100mm of travel, so you think I could go 120mm, how would the handeling change?
You know about the tyres and the chain device.Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -
Slackens the angles, raises BB.0

not so sure about other 2 but you will probs be able to got to 120mm and it shouldnt effect it at all, possibly 130mm but wouldnt stay at 120mm.0

A slacker angle, what does that do, less responsive turning?
So I may get away with a 120mm?
Thanks!
So what about the Blackspire and the Maxxis tyres?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -
if you put to much on it will give it worse handling and can be dangerous if you over do it but 120 will be fine as there not much difference! for the tyres i would get quite a hard compound if you want them to last a while!0

If in doubt get a travel adjust fork and have a play. If the angles are already slack at 100mm, extra travel will slow the handling down.0

Ok, so I'll get the MaxPro (I think thats what they're called) version of the tyres.
I can adjust my current forks from 80 - 100mm of travel, I was looking at something like this:

Any ideas about the chain device?
Also, which e13 bashguard would I get to go with my Kona Blast 2006, don't you have to get the right amount of teeth or something?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -
Thats 140mm travel, too much. Uturn forks like the Tora, Recon and Rev are 85-130mm, ideal.0
-
i dont think its a good idea to put 140mm travel fork on a bike with 100mm,have a look at 120mm0

Ok, Thanks for the help!
What about the bashguard and chain device, any ideas?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060 -

Does your frame have the ISCG mounts? That should answer your question.0

That's the thing, I don't know, I don't know how to find out either...Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060

Woah, didn't know it posted that many, sorry about that
So, how would I find out if it's an ISCG mount or not? Also, what e13 bashguard would I get, I want to keep the granny ring and the middle one. Thanks!Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 060
