More HID advice

Having read all I can find, I find myself being drawn to buying an HID light for technical night riding. Probably a Light & Motion HID because I can get a deal. My only worry is how fragile these lights are. A couple of people have mentioned replacing bulbs at £80 each!

Does anyone have knowledge/experience of how robust these light sytems are they could share with me?
