why wont my nokia 6288 charge?

any ideas???
i just put the thing into the phone and turned the charger on and it isnt doing anything :(

    Tried borrowing a charger off someone else who has a Nokia? Will it charge from USB?* Will other people's phones charge from your charger? Have you tried the charger in a different plug socket?

    *I have no idea if this particular phone has a USB link, nor can I be bothered to find out. :P

    ive tryed it in other plugs but none of the others ill try it out :)

    sounds stupid but have you blown into the hole where the socket fits into mthe fone...could be full of mud ..like mine...

    We have so manyof these questions on the orange business help desk, basically:

    1) try a different charger.
    2) try a dfferent socket.
    3) try your battery in a different phone and different battery in your phone and try charging both.
    4) how old is the phone as batteries are normally oly warrentied for 6 NOT 12 months like the phone!
    5) check all the connection pins are clean (pencil ereaser) and not damaged.
    6) contact your servoce provider once you have done these and get them to run a diagnosis if they provid this service of not get the part number and buy a new one (a spare is always usefull)

    right
    now it will turn on for all of 3 seconds then turns its self off, it doesnt even reach the main screen, the nokia sign comes on then its pixelates and goes off :(:(:(

    It'd be helpful if we knew what you did to get that far... Did you try all HJ1976's suggestions?

    not all, ive done 1,2 and 5. To get that far i just tried turning it on normally, before i got hj1976's suggestions

    Sounds like either the phone or the battery. HJ1976's test #3 should tell you which.
    Even if the voices aren't real, they have some very good ideas.
