Can I use a SRAM PC58 chain on 8sp Sora equiped Allez?

The original HG50 chain has done 800 miles now so I want to change the chain to reduce wear on the other components. I like the power link system of SRAM.

I have been renovating a sora equipped bike for the wife of a friend who wants to give it to him for his birthday tomorrow -- anyway it needed a new chain, chainring and cassette - I specced out a shimano HG50 chain and the other bits, sent her to ribble cycles to get them and she came back with a KMC 8-speed chain - this one in fact:

i fitted it tonight and was well impressed - only £7.50 too - it has the KMC equivalent of the powerlink they call it the missing link - it was very very easy to fit.

I'll be looking at one of them when my 9-speed shimano needs overhauled.

Just bought a PC58 for my 8 speed Shimano winter bike so yes should be fine.
  • Thank's guys. I was quite certain, but wanted to make sure.
