wiggle not keeping hangers for all bikes??

A mate has been struggling to get a deraileur hanger from wiggle for her focus izalco... seems all the %$*&% models have different hangers- made in different factories perhaps? Has anyone else struggled with this?

    Can you contact Focus direct? I'm sure they have a website and German companies always seem to be very efficient and handle our ability to only speak one language very well.

    Brilliant! Thanks so much, I had no idea that Focus were a "real" bike company, I thought that they were an in-house relabelled "brand"!

    Hi,
    Latest update is that even with chasing focus and wiggle, Amy (our mate with the Focus) still has no hanger!!!!!! I do understand that wiggle has had loads of extra grief with the postal service not doing their job.... but service standards do seem to be slipping.

    Is this a one off?

    Sadly, a reflection of a throw-away market and competitive sourcing policy which means that bikes often come from different sources and can vary in critical things like replaceable hangers - why the industry hasn't developed a generic design for a metal bracket is beyond me - it has virtually no performance impact but creates considerable grief for customers when they go wrong. It would also save manufacturers a pile of money in inventory and administration. So any bike industry product managers care to steal my idea - feel free!

    I am thinking about getting a Focus but this may put me off.

    Is it an isolated incident or are there other people who have had trouble?

    I think almost all the TREK hangers are the same... which helps a lot as you've said, with inventory etc!

    Heck, I could file a hanger for ANY Focus bike in the time that wiggle have taken to supply this hanger!!!!
