Longest wait to ride a new bike?

With the latest Foot and Mouth and Blue Tongue outbreaks in the news, my mind drifted back to the dark days of 2001...
Feb 5th 2001 - ordered new mountain bike
Feb 19th 2001 - Foot and Mouth outbreak closes rights of way :evil:
Feb 20th 2001 - new bike arrives
I didn't want to ride the MTB on the road - I had perfectly good road bikes for that so I decided to leave the bike in its box until the local bridleways reopened. Surely that would only be a couple of weeks...?
March 2001 - bridleways shut
April 2001 - bridleways shut
May 2001 - bridleways shut
June 2001 - bridleways shut
July 10th 2001 - bridleways reopen -
July 10th - July 13th 2001 - too busy at work to ride bike - :evil:
Finally, after waiting 20 weeks and 4 days...
July 14th 2001 - rode 'new' mountain bike - :P
Has anybody ever waited longer than that to ride a new bike?

I got a new cinelli 3 weeks ago then got sinisitus the day after- had my first ride (proper as in non-test ride) on it the day before yesterday."I hold it true, what'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost;
Than never to have loved at all."
Alfred Tennyson0
