Hi all,
I recently had my bike stolen :x and am now looking at replacing it. I do a circa 15 mile in total daily commute. My old bike was a pretty basic urban hybrid (26 " wheels) but want something a bit more swift and I'm thinking 700c this time round.
Have a budget of £300-350 for bike excluding add ons. Current options from Evans that I am considering (where I have to get replacement from due to insurance):
- Scott Sportster P45 2007 - £329 from £399
- Scott Sub 20 Classic 2007 - £329 from £399
- Ridgeback Genesis Day 00 2007 - £299 from £349
- Trek 7.3 FX 2007 - £299 from £349
- Ridgeback Velocity Gents 2007 - £269 from £299
Please let me know your thoughts plus any alternatives I should consider?
Cheers,
Simon.

I have a Scott SUB 20 classic and I really like it, although I havent rode much else.
I have heard good things about the Ridgeback Genesis too.
I also looked at the Scott S60 FB, its more road than the sub and I didnt think the equiptment level was as good.

I've got a Ridgeback Velocity its a good fast bike, the quill stem is a little creaky however. I only use for a short commute (about 10miles round). I used to live further from work and commuted on my Sirrus, its a far superior bike and its highly recommended on this forum. I see Evans are doing one for £350 you might want to check it out.0
