As a get me home light what do people use?
I was thinking along the lines of a Petzl or similar...do these kind sit ok on the helmet. Do they come with adjustable brackets?? Only really want something to get me along the fire road home.

i've seen a few posts about people using a petzl myo i'd looked into one to use as a main helmet light because the myo xp 3 says it gives good visability up to around 45 feet which i thought wouldn't be too bad considering the price etc.
i've been told the can fit to a helmet relatively easily using the straps they come with and a few well placed zip ties or fixings.0 -
The Exposure Joystick MaXx got rave reviews in WMB this month, although for ~£140 it may be slight overkill. It can be helmet or bar mounted and decent enough to use on the trails apparently too.
I'm probably going to get a Race MaXx for my night XC rides. 3 Hours at 480 lumens will be plenty enough light.Specialized Rockhopper '07

yeh but thats a fair \amount more than a petzl head light!
think the original question was only based on a get you home light....0 -
Ahs anyone got any experience of the Princeton TEC EOS headtorch? And mounting it on a helmet?
How does this compare with the Petzl Myo XP?
I'm looking for a headtorch to use in conjunction with my cat eye triple shot, and also for use when I do a spot of fell running at night (on routes I already know mind!).
Any other make/model headtorch suggestions? Ideally looking at around the £30-35 mark.New '06 Giant XTC composite.(Black bike No.3)

I bought the Silva L1 LED headtorch. Damn is it bright, and the batteries last forever (100hrs+).
It is slightly more expensive than £35, but it is supposed to be the best/most powerful LED headtorch out.

never had any problems with my petzl had some right hammer tikkia plus model probs not best thing for in the woods though its not megga powerful, just lasts forever ( i usually get 60 hours use ) and is always there to get me home if the sun sets0

I use a Petzl head torch mounted on my helmet. I remove all the webbing, cable tie the lamp to the front of the helmet, using a piece of old innertube under it to stop it damaging the helmet. I've extended the cable to the battery pack (spliced a piece of two core electrical cable from an old radio lead) so it sits in my back pack, not on the helmet.0
