Hi there, I am currently putting a BMX together but i've fallen at the first hurdle....
I have put on the new forks and i have put on the headset and stem and tightend all together but when i try and spin the forks it goes around a couple of times and then just stops...I can hear some grating when it spins and i was wondering if anyone knows how to solve this problem i am currently having.
Many thanks
Dave

crown race fitted? bearings the right way round?
read parktools."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

sounds to me like you have the bearing cage facing the wrong way in the cup! make sure you use a little lube too.Enjoy the simple things in life0

Bearings is what I first thought of too0

Could have simply over loaded the bearings.0

Over sdjusted using the top cap. They must be perfectly adjusted before the stem bolts are tightened.0

? Of course you can. If you overload the bearings, they grind and wear too quick.0
