Water Inside My Frame
Carrying my bike out the cellar yesterday i heard a strange gurgling. After a close look and listen, I realised it was water in the (alu) frame.
I took the seat post off and turned the bike over and then tipped it up so it was resting at 180 degress on its front wheel so some more water could drain out via top of the forks.
But a few questions-
1) How does the water get in? I've been off the bike due to injury for most of summer and can only think of one drizzly ride i've been on in last 3 months.
2) What's the best way to get the water out?
3) Any tips on stopping getting in again?

The water normally gets in down the seatpost. There should be drain holes under the bottom bracket and probably the chainstays so check these aren't clogged up if you have them.
I have drain holes in the chain stays so I find the best way to get the water out is to stand the bike up on it's rear wheel. I'm a bit surprised you had water coming out of the top of the forks.
Some people cut some inner tube around the seatpost and headset to stop water getting in but I think that looks a bit unsightly. Just make sure you tip the bike up after a wet ride or wash. Mudguards will also help.Today is your day, your mountain is waiting, so get on your way {Dr Seus}0
