Choice of three????

I'm about to buy my first bike after a 10 year absence and was poised to order an 08' Merlin Malt 4 for £750 when my local bike shop said i could have an 07' Rockhopper pro for £800. I have read good reviews on both but wanted some opinions on which is considered the best of these two.
The bike is for XC/Trail riding at the weekend and i will not be racing. Also considered a Kona Caldera and any opinions on these would be appreciated also.

Spec wise the Hopper and Malt are better than the Caldera, and probably better frames too. Both are good bikes - try and arrange a test.0
