Clear Coat/Laquer for ball-burnished alu frame, suggestions?

Hello again folks,
The old LTS has now been polished up all shiny and new looking and the replacement decals are on the way from the states.
2 questions though:
Can anyone recommend a good clear coat or laquer for this frame surface?
Should I put on the stickers before or after the laquer?
Oh, and apologies if this is in the wrong section :oops:

any clear coat that is suitable for alluminum. decals up to you and the painter. but beaware that some paints can cause the inks colours to run in some decals."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
