Keo Carbons
Picked up a pair of Keo Carbons off Ebay. Bit miffed as they seem to have had a lot more wear than described, but using them on the bike.
I've noticed that there is a small amount of play in each pedal. This can be felt by trying to twist the pedal body whilst keeping the crank still. I can feel it on the road too.
Is it normal to feel some play with Keo Carbons, or should I be stripping them down and re-greasing (or have I been sold a pup :? )

I have the Classics and Ti/carbons
both developed play, and I thought about replacing the bearings. You can get these easily, however, by tightening the plastic/resin nut, 1/8th of a turn, play was removed in all cases
The resin nuts are different in the Classics and Ti's-the former require a special tool, made in plastic and costing pence, the latter require an 18mm ring wrench“It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best..." Ernest Hemingway0 -
Thanks Ken,
The Carbons seem to be the same as the Ti and it looks like an 18mm spanner will do the trick. Is it worth stripping them down first?0 -
I would take the axles out, clean and regrease
be careful with the direction you unscrew-R pedal, L thread“It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best..." Ernest Hemingway0
