Topeak tool question

Does anyone know if the chain tool included in Topeak multi-tools is compatable with 8 speed HG chains?

    i`ve split differant chains with the chain tool in my top peak multitool doo da. However get the SRAM chain with power link and then no need for chain tool, works exactly as it says easy peasy.

    Both my bikes have HG chains, so getting the tool is probably the best option fo rme at the moment.
    Why do I pick hobbies that need specialised gear all the time? I'm a real sucker for buying shiny tools :!:
