I am goin to sell my norco a-line for £1000 i am wanting either a hardtail or full sus, but am not sure what to choose, i do sort of evrything not much jumping and downhill, mainly singletrack and short xc (10-15miles if that), i was thinking something like a specialized p all mountain, i am not bothered if it is second hand but good condition, i have been offered a specialized p am for £500 from my lbs, i have a max of £750 as i need money for grass track racing, what does anyone think as long as it works and is in good condition i am happy, it MUST have 16+ gear, or do you think its worth trying to swap it for something like a coiler?

750 will buy you a good allround hardtail like a GT Aggressor XCR. You need to decide wheter full suss or a hardtail will suit you best.0

well i was thinking probably hardtail as it will be better £750 is not really alot for a full sus although i have been looking on ebay and for around £750 i could get a 06 stinky.
what do you think?0 -
Stinky vs a hardtail that would be good for a bit of XC are two totally different bikes, and a stinky seems a bit too much bike for your said riding.0

i have been offered a swap for my a-line for a 07 stumpjumper comp in excellent condition what do you think? also what will this bike be able to take, will it be ok to do the occasional jump/drops not anything massive.
thanks0 -
Stumpy is a xc/trail bikes, not for big jumps and drops. A lot of it is skill too - finesse is better than clumsy. If you are the latter, more beef may be better. Testing the bike would be good too - it might not fit you.0

ok thanks for that0
