Tyre and tube recommendations

I normally use tubs for racing but I have just bought a pair of clincher wheels (Rolf Elan Aeros) to use on my best bike when I don't really want to run tubs, like for sportives. What tyres and tubes would people recommend? I would like something fairly fast so I am thinking Michelin Pro 2 Race or maybe Pro 2 Light. Another possible contender is the Conti GP4000 or GP4000S does this new "Black Chilli" compound actually make a difference? I don't expect to get massive mileage out of them (I have Vittoria Rubino Pros on my training wheels for that which seem totally indestructible), but at the same time I want decent puncture resistance so I won't be putting Conti Supersonics on there.
As for tubes, am I better off with butyl or latex? I am thinking of either the Conti supersonics, which seem to be the lightest butyl tubes; or Michelin Aircomp latex, which will possibly provide lower rolling resistance (???) but are a bit heavier?
Would be grateful for any opinions or other suggestions. Thanks

Tyres are tricky. All my teammates love ProRace2's. I had nothing but bad luck with them. nice ride though. I'm going to try some Challenge Open Tubulars next. Apparently the open tubular style has a ride closer to that of tubs...0

Schwalbe Ultremos, great grip, great ride, great p*nct*re protection, 190g (start saving now)-Schwalbe Rain are very good too. Finally, for sportifs with uncertain surfaces, think 25mm-again, Schwalbe Rain
As for inners Bontrager Ultralite, 50g-seem to do the business for me“It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best..." Ernest Hemingway0 -
I have used pro race 2s for the last two years and think they are very good but when building my new bike this year I opted for the Conti GP 4000s Black Chilis. I noticed that they grip better than pro race 2s and I feel more confident with them. I am not an expert on such things but for me to notice the difference it must be more than just marginal.Brian B.0
