I've just bought a patriot 7+ frame, I was planning on building my components from my old hradtail on to it. But i've realised a slight flaw in that I've only got a 5'' travel pair of rockshox psylos for a 7'' bike. Does anyone know if it will ride ok. I've got the axle to crown lengths and I'm only 34mm short compared to a pair of manitou sherman breakout plus or marzocchi 66. Any advice on what I should do.

I'd get a new fork. Its not just the C2A length, but you are two inches down, and the psylo at full travel is flexy.

As per SS, that and those forks aren't going to be the best.
Try and locate some 2nd hand Shermans , they don't seem to be worth bugger all.
Is the Patriot a 1.5 headset? If so, it's even harder to sell Shermans of this size, so even better bargains for you.

I won't sell mine as they just don't fetch enough to make it worth while, so I'll keep em and throw them on my Gemini (running a lefty otherwise) next time I go to the Alps.

BTW I'm obviously suggesting the Shermans as a cheap way to get yourself going, there better forks out there if your willing to spend more....
