For one reason and another i like shorter cranks on my ss, unfortuently being a heavy hard rider i tend to go though a lot of kit.

So anyone hazard as to a guess where i might get a pair of 167.5mm cranks that can be adapted to take a single chain ring, sqaure taper, not made of cheese, straight (roadie style rather than mtbish) will take a battering, preferrabley silver. Not asking for much am I :D

last pair of cranks where salvaged from an old pashley trike which where absolutely spot apart from going from great to totally knackered in just 4 months of riding far harder than they where ever intended for.

p.s. must be avalible from a tried and tested uk online shop or orderable by lbs though distrobuter. Ive tried the import route and its far more hassel than its worth.

I think Lord Lucan was selling a set last week ;-)

I'd be tempted to look for an older Shimano XTR crank, but would require a new (old style) octalink bottom bracket.
  • thats fair enough i suppose. the bb was going to need replacing in not to long anway.

whats the difference between the new and old style octalink bbs?

you could look at some BMX type 3 piece cranks and use them with or without a spider.

165mm and 170mm are easy to find but 167.5mm may be not as easy to find.
