or can I call them flaps
I like that word - Flaps.
any how up, whats best lightest mud guards to get?
should I get the moto-X style front one that goes up fork hole or a flat un that goes on frame?
I will mostly be getting the rear one that sits on the saddle post and sticks out like a rockers quiff.
let me know wot you lot are wearing this winter.

I've bought a crud catcher for my rear. Ooh err!
I haven't had the chance to test out this flap (had to fit it in somewhere) yet as I get my bike on monday.
Can report back if you can wait that long??0 -
My missus wanted mudguards on her new bike as she would be using it twice a month on the road to travel to see her personnel trainer and didn't want the road spray all over her. I don't like mud guards and was against it, but bowed to her logic on the road riding part (I only really use mine offroad), so i got her some mud guards from Halfords, motocross type front and saddle post mounted rear (dirt monkey I think they were), well after a very muddy ride I'm now thinking of getting some for my bike. Her bike was pretty clean compared to mine as I've only got the crud catcher on the front (frame fitted).
She was also pretty much spotless compared to my sprayed look.
Very impressed with them.
Oh and they were dirt cheap0 -
Crud catchers are great, I use a crud race guard on the rear and one of those flat crud guards on the front. combined with some clear glasses from screwfix to keep any stray mud out of the eyes and you'll be sorted.0

crud guard look great, but..........
what can I do to stop the gunk going up my hole ?
My hole being the hole above front tyre in my forks that leads to my handlebars,
wots proper name for it ?0 -
Drive to halfords. Go to the motoring section. Look for those little "handy packs" (colour coded). In one of these, you will find an assorted bag of grommits. One of these can be used to stop the crud going into the fork steerer. However, to be sure, just quirt some GT85 / oil up the tube it to stop it corroding
